Michael Landstad joined CBRE in February as a General Manager for Retail Asset Services. He is responsible for managing the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. Prior to joining CBRE, Michael held the position of Senior Property Manager at Mid-America Real Estate. There he managed The Shops at West End project located in St. Louis Park along with two other smaller shopping centers encompassing more than 425,000 square feet. Michael has been in the retail shopping center management business since 1997.
During Michael’s 20 years in the industry he has held various management positions with several Real Estate Investment Trusts such as The Mills Corporation, Macerich, Kimco Realty, and Duke Realty. The asset types he has managed varies from Super-Regional Shopping Centers, Power Centers, Neighborhood Centers, and mixed-use Lifestyle Centers. During his tenure with the Mills Corporation he was involved with the development and opening of seven ground-up Super-Regional Shopping Centers. Most recently in 2009 Michael was tasked with the management and opening of the newly developed Lifestyle center, The Shops at West End.
Michael completed the International Council of Shopping Centers Management I and II courses and he continues to be an ICSC and MSCA member. He attended college locally at Normandale and at the University of Phoenix while living in Arizona. In 2013, the editors of Minnesota Business Magazine selected Michael as a “Power 50” designee where the publication recognized remarkable players in the Minnesota business community.
